WE PRAY (a thanksgiving song)
January 16, 2008We Pray (Girlie Arce & DJ Padilla)
I am about to offer God a sacrifice of Thanksgiving on Friday for all His goodness, blessings, and mercy all year round. On January 22 I will be celebrating my 9th birthday in spirit (for those who do not know that was the date when I was baptized in our Church).
I value this day too much. Those past 9 nine years is like a journey full of struggles but I wouldn't deny the fact that I've been so happy most of the times. To be with the brethren who fully subject themselves to the will of their Creator is such a very nice experience I wouldn't ever regret, rather cherish all the days of my life. It may sound corny (or stupid) to others especially to those who are not that religious but wait, acknowledging the will of your Creator isn't stupid at all, rather the wisest decision you'll ever make.
By the way, this is the song that I, together with Sis. Elaine, is about to sing. We have our own version, too, but I'm not going to post our recordings here without her permission, for she most probably wouldn't allow me. ^.^
The skies are crying coz I’m happy
January 15, 2008
It's been raining for a couple of days now which means we've already been so patient waiting for our clothes to dry up. It also spells out that we've been enduring the heavy flow of traffic for a couple of days now. I wonder why the traffic jams whenever it rains, this fact happens even in the Philippines. In spite of this, no one hates the rain in this country. Everyone enjoys it, everyone loves it. It's a blessing which can be considered a miracle in this place, for it seldom rains here.
This frequent drizzle is somewhat similar with the season last year except for this brain-freezing air that makes your teeth chill and your whole body tremble. It's a lot colder now than before which makes me really enjoy this season. I know sooner or later this will all be gone and the temperature would again be as hot as if you are being fried alive. You could just imagine how hot the hell is, though this place I think is colder than that.
A small tongue do kill; in fact, it can also be a deadliest tool to commit suicide
August 30, 2007Recently, I've read a blog post specifically discussing and at the same criticizing a certain columnist who had posted an article about the humble and hard-working OFWs whom she had encountered in her journey to Greece. Believe me, this was the first time I've stumbled into a blog post that has received over 2,000 comments and counting. The post, however, is intended to discuss about a specific column written by a columnist whose name is Malu Fernandez; note that.
This column, which had become a controversial issue not only in the internet world but also reached the peak of fame of being televised via satellite, must have been a popular tool to honor the hard work, suffering, and sacrifice made by the OFWs abroad. But not. Malu's article had reached the height of its popularity for arousing Filipinos fury with the unkind words that she wrote about the poor and innocent OFWs.
Her article titled Are you a stinky linky? Or do you smell like a divalicious babe? was published under The Manila Standard Today last April 2007. With the help of this newspaper, she had made her ignorance echo into publicity and be known among multitude. With all carelessness she said in her article,
"Call me whatever you like but when you are trapped in economy class that is filled to the brim with migrant workers the smell gets a little funky after nine hours of flying."
What an obnoxious expression!
Not only that. To make her ignorance of the real possible impact of her words manifest to the public, she further mentioned in her column titled "From Boracay to Greece" under People Asia magazine:
"I forget that the hub was in Dubai and the majority of OFWs were stationed there. The duty-free shop was overrun with Filipino workers selling cell phone and perfume. I wanted to slash my wrist at the thought of being trapped in a plane with all of them."
I guess she had mistakenly published her write to the popular media papers like The Manila Times Today and People Asia. The news about her inhumane comment about the OFWs spreaded like plague in the net that resulted her to reap fuming insults even death threats.

To calm the raging anger of OFWs who have joined forces to shout their strong disgust against Malu and against the insults she had written, Malu Fernandez filed her resignation to both The Manila Times Today newspaper and People Asia magazine.
Please read, Statement from Malu Fernandez on the OFW Controversy
Well, in the end I want to say and you may take it as my personal opinion towards this issue; I may not be one of those who are in the plane where she rode upon, but I am one of the OFWs who is out of the country sacrificing for a small amount of penny to support my family. I dont smell like a divalicious babe, I cant afford to buy expensive perfumes, but in all aspect I know how to mind other people's emotions before I speak; I guess all human beings have this kind of nature in them, unless of course, you are a pig and your manners stink.
Okay let's stop, she already resigned. I just hope that this incident serves her a good moral lesson which she would carry in dealing with every OFWs she may encounter all through her life. I hope she would learn to pay respect to her fellow kababayans for no matter how stinky or divalicious a Filipino's smell might be, we still belong to a low class and often discrimited Philippines. Now, that's another issue to tackle.

Phenomenal preacher’s blog stirs debate challengers
August 23, 2007Religion blogging may not be the most popular among the many different forms of blog. Technology blog is and currently the king of the slate. And a recent check into the Top 100 bloggers of the blogging service, Wordpress, would show that there are only few religion-centered blogs which entered the honor roll.

Run with the Time
August 19, 2007There's no time to be lousy and drowsy, I don't have much time to accomplish everything that has to be accomplished within the given deadline. My mind is supposed to be busy thinking of the things that I must do next, and not busy of thinking to go home, drown myself to bed, and have a good night sleep.
So many things to do, so little time left. I must not sleep till I accomplish something. But my eyes along with my body is rallying for exhaustion and my brain is having a good review of granting their requests and complaints.
But time is running and it won't wait for me, rather would surely leave me behind feeling sorry. No, I'm not that busy, I'm just sleepy. I'm not sleepless, I'm just lack of sleep. An hour or so is enough to replenish my strength so to regain my sound thinking. This calendar and clock really pressure me. I hope I can freeze them like Storm in X-Men does to her enemies; while their in halt I would lay down in a green field and stare at the sky, for just a moment.
Now back to reality. I need to keep running with the time, and if possible, overtake it and take advantage to it. I've been used in fighting against these crammings and deadlines yet I still can't cope up living with them. Well, I guess this is how a productive life is made of, and in order to be productive, you have to turn you head nuts most of the time. "If you can't avoid it, live by it." (Not my word, but I can't remember who said that; I'm so sleepy to think about it.)
Happiness
How romantic it is to be searched… and be found…
Be loved and be treasured
Like a precious hidden diamond under the shubberies of the unknown
…and of uncertainty
Not withstanding the burning heat of the sun
Merely looking at the priceless prize to be won
That is… HAPPINESS!
And…only him who desired to search can fathom.

Ghosts of 2004 Elections: Eliseo Soriano, a Nuisance Candidate?
August 18, 2007This COMELEC action was seen by some quarters as another case of compartmentalized justice which is very much observed here in the Philippines and experienced much by Eliseo Soriano.

Numb
August 16, 2007This world never ceases to give us pain to make us suffer. Realizing this makes me smile earwide.
Bro. Eli said once, there are instances in our lives when we have to be numb. If you'll take the weight of everything in your chest, you'll die of heart attack. Sometimes you'll just have to let things pass, ignore painful words that hurt you, cover your ears with all those lies that they throw against your person, smile heartily and tell yourself, "It's part of life".
For an extra-sensitive person like me, it's not easy to do this. But if this is the only way available to free yourself from heartaches, why not force yourself to do it? Besides, it's not what they tell that proves who you really are; let your works testify on your behalf.
Let's work hand in hand to be numb, in a way…
