WE PRAY (a thanksgiving song)
January 16, 2008We Pray (Girlie Arce & DJ Padilla)
I am about to offer God a sacrifice of Thanksgiving on Friday for all His goodness, blessings, and mercy all year round. On January 22 I will be celebrating my 9th birthday in spirit (for those who do not know that was the date when I was baptized in our Church).
I value this day too much. Those past 9 nine years is like a journey full of struggles but I wouldn't deny the fact that I've been so happy most of the times. To be with the brethren who fully subject themselves to the will of their Creator is such a very nice experience I wouldn't ever regret, rather cherish all the days of my life. It may sound corny (or stupid) to others especially to those who are not that religious but wait, acknowledging the will of your Creator isn't stupid at all, rather the wisest decision you'll ever make.
By the way, this is the song that I, together with Sis. Elaine, is about to sing. We have our own version, too, but I'm not going to post our recordings here without her permission, for she most probably wouldn't allow me. ^.^
WE PRAY
By: Sis Girlie Arce & Sis DJ Padilla
We pray for thy salvation
Lord hear our voice
We pray You will be here
Until the end of our days
We pray oh Lord You’ll guide us
As we walk Your ways
Oh Lord please be there
As we praise together
I
Search the world
So clear we see
The hand that saves and
The light we need
Only under your wings
We felt the care we can’t compare
II
The faith, the hope, the love You gave
Serve as strength in every step we make
You cast away our fears
As we unite and fight the good fight of faith and
REFRAIN
Oh dear God we cry out loud
Take and receive the offer that we have
Please be glad
With the melody and harmony
Together hand in hand we praise Your name
Almighty name
CHORUS
We offer You our lives
As living sacrifices
To the heavens above
We bring You honor and love
We thank You Holy God
For giving our Lord Jesus
You've enlightened our hearts
Took us out from the dark
And as we firmly stand
Oh Lord you heal and bless Your land
III
Here and there and everywhere
Some people do not even care
Children of God were hated persecuted in this world
IV
They never stop, they never rest
Throwing hurt and pain and loneliness
But faith is still in place
And we'll remain in service over and over
(REPEAT REFRAIN)
(REPEAT CHORUS)
BRIDGE
One faith, one hope, one love (Male)
Love is all that will remain (Female)
One heart, one body, one soul (Male)
As we reach out for the goal (Female)
Singing hallelujah (Male)
Singing hallelujah
(ADLIB)
(REPEAT CHORUS)
And as we firmly stand
Oh Lord you heal and bless Your land
